You can access your account
On the website, open Settings, then “Delete account” under “Session and deletion”, and confirm deletion. You can also use the deletion option in the app settings.
If you administer a community, transfer its administration to another member first. You can delete individual posts and comments before deleting your account.
Deleted and retained data
- The sign-in identity is deleted. The profile becomes inaccessible and its personal information is removed or replaced with anonymized values: email, name, username, gender and birth date.
- Academic information and received notifications are deleted. Active community memberships end. Profile and cover images are queued for deletion.
- Posts, comments and media you have not deleted may remain in discussions under “[deleted]”. A technical account record is retained to maintain these links.
- Some logs, backups and moderation records may be retained for security, report handling, legal obligations or disputes. The current policy does not specify a fixed retention period for each category. Retained contributions have no announced automatic deletion date.

Request help deleting my account
To protect your account, we must verify that you control its email address before deleting it. The team will reply to that address to confirm your request. We will not ask for a password or identity document. Sending this request does not immediately delete your account.
