1. Acceptance and eligibility
By using Looupe, you accept these terms, the Privacy Policy and Community Rules. You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information.
Student-account status is reserved for current students of Université de Montréal, HEC Montréal and Polytechnique Montréal. It requires confirmation of a recognized institutional email address and a representation that the user currently studies there. No supporting document is currently requested.
Non-student accounts may view and join communities. They may post or comment only in communities approved by Looupe for those contributions and may not repost.
2. Accounts and communities
You are responsible for safeguarding account access and must promptly report unauthorized use. Accounts may not be transferred or shared to evade restrictions. A community represents a group, subject or organization; it is not a user-account type. Student verification does not grant moderation powers.
3. User content
You remain responsible for your content and represent that you hold the necessary rights. You grant Looupe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, revocable by deleting the content, limited to the hosting, technical reproduction, display, distribution and adaptation needed to operate and promote the service.
4. Conduct and security
Illegal, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, sexually violent, fraudulent, defamatory or privacy-infringing content is prohibited. Unauthorized access, security testing without written permission, malicious code, bulk extraction, circumvention of technical limits and service disruption are also prohibited.
5. Reports, moderation and blocking
Users may report content or conduct. Authorized community teams and Looupe may review content, remove content or a repost, restrict features, suspend, ban or delete an account, or remove a community. Confidential decision details are not necessarily disclosed to the reporter. Users may block another user from that person's profile; blocking limits interactions but may not remove all public content or shared discussions.
6. Reposts
A repost points to the original post and must comply with the destination community's rules. Non-student accounts may not repost. Community moderators or administrators may remove a repost from their community without deleting the original post.
7. External services and availability
Looupe relies on DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, Supabase, Resend, Expo and Apple. Maintenance, updates, incidents and provider outages may interrupt service. Looupe takes reasonable restoration measures but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
8. Third-party information and emergencies
User or third-party information about programs, services and resources may be incomplete or inaccurate. Verify important information with its official source. Looupe is not an emergency service; contact the appropriate emergency resources where immediate help is needed.
9. Looupe property
Looupe's application, brand, interface, code, graphics and original content are protected. No right is granted beyond personal use of the service under these terms.
10. Suspension and deletion
You may delete your account and may first delete contributions individually. Retained contributions are anonymized as “[deleted]” or “[supprimé]”. Looupe may restrict, suspend or close accounts for violations, security risk, fraud, ineligibility or legal requirements. Circumventing an enforcement action with another account is prohibited.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Looupe is provided “as is”. Looupe is not responsible for user conduct, decisions based on user content or interruptions beyond its reasonable control. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Changes, law and contact
Material changes will receive appropriate notice. These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec and Canada, subject to mandatory remedies.
